ディズニー映画リメンバーミーのダンテでお馴染みのショロイツクイントリという犬はマヤ、アステカ文明でも最良の友とされていた。
ショロの名は雷と死の神"ショロトル"から、犬とゆう意味のイツクイントリを掛け合わせた名前になっている。
この犬は【人をあの世へ導く】とゆう重要な役目を持っていた∞
ショロトル神が生者を守り、冥府での危険な旅で死者を導く為に創造した∞

映画リメンバーミーでも魂のガイドとしてダンテがミゲルと死者の国へ行ったのにはそういった神話の背景があったんだなぁ。

The dog Xolo Itzcuintli, familiar to us from Dante in the Disney movie Coco, was considered one of the best friends of the Mayan and Aztec civilizations.
The name Xolo is a combination of "Xolotl," the god of thunder and death, and "Itzcuintli," meaning "dog.
This dog had the important role of "guiding people to the other world.

It was created by the god Sholotor to protect the living and guide the dead on their perilous journey in the underworld.

In the movie Coco, Dante went to the land of the dead with Miguel as a soul guide.

It's impressive to think that the background of the myth was reflected in the movie.
